Drawn, 1937, at the artist's studio, 235 East 72nd Street. The view is from the tenth floor, facing north. In the upper right hand corner of the large canvas Phenomena (1936-1938), there are portions of a modern metropolis. This drawing, however, is purely an observation of nature.
