In Salomé I undertook the interpretation of a bit of disputed history. I have long been fascinated by the consummate evil of Herodias. The positioning of the four characters creates tensions that, I feel, mock her ambition - and pretensions. Thin translucent sheets of lithographic paper permitted vibrations in the drawing and made registration a breeze.
